Its been a while since i blogged so i'm going to upload my current work from october 2010 to my most recent work here in 2011.
I start with i shot which was captured at the Mt Barker grapes and Gallops with a Canon EOS 5D and 70-200mm lens. it took my fancy as it really demonstrates the atmosphere at the races and shows the fury behind the rider and the horse.
The next couple of shots are macro as my dad had just got a new macro lens the MP-E 65mm which i found the be truely amazing, yet with out correct skill was so difficult to use and to light the shot most shots bellow where taken with a flash unit on a cord close to the end of the lens as it was soo clos to the shot it created it own shadow. This one below is of my friend Bonnie's eye. Eye photography i find amazing a could be said as a signature shot of mine, but this shot was painful for both Bonnie and myself as she was left to stay with her eye wide open as i found the right focal distance and then was flashed at close range with the speedlite.
This photo i saw as one of the best macro shots but according to everyone else not as such. This shot too atleast 10 minutes to set up with the fly in the right postions aswell as the focal point and lighting was annoying but in the end the final product came out not to bad if i say so myself.
This next photo i like to see as my transition or start into the fashion side of photography. Being new i just went along and snapped what ever looked good then my model Shelby had a lay down on the warm wooden jetty and out popped this beautiful pose and shot of Shelby. I felt the shot really did require th black and white as it really did set an impact in the photograph itself.
This another portfolio i did for a close friend. Lexi is amazing as a person as much as how good she looks. For someone who had never been infront of a camera and done such work she really played with the camera. With this shot i thought seeing as she has amazing eyes i would get a portrait shot of just her head and eyes and make them pop the idea was sound and the final product exceded expectations.
Setting is a crutial element in photography luckly i heard of a place, Where abanodoned water tanks once used by the city council are now ruins full of graffitti which might aswell be art as it no the run of the mill "F.L was ere 08", but something with purpose and meaning. Lexi again completing the shot by playing with the camera modeling a one piece
This photo is of a girl who has been there for me through alot of hardships and she means alot to me that of course is Bonnie Ralph. This shot i really want to express the beauty of her eyes as they are big and are all like "BAM in your face" so using a colour correction action in photoshop and my secret to make eyes pop i made them come alive
Thank you for view input is always welcomed and in an industry like this pushed as with out opinion and input growing trends of what the viewer wants to see can't be expressed thank you.
I leave listening to Seventeen by Casxio and remixed by Skrillex
